Hi, I’m going anon, since I am a shy person. But I do know about pop culture and idols, that I think is good to share.
Most people aspire to be idols. But it’s not good if you don’t know much about Japanese culture, especially pop culture. You’re at a bit of a disadvantaged since/if you’re not Japanese or live in Japan.
Who are the popular groups? Who are the top actors/actresses? What is Ashida Mana known for? What are the popular karaoke songs and dramas for the season?
Those kind of things are good to know. Especially if you try to hold to conversations or make jokes, you can’t rely on anime and manga alone (´・ω・｀)
I had that problem when trying to interact with Japanese people at first. I was a bit interested in the culture but nothing much. So I was quite at a lost with topics to talk about. However when I researched and found celebrities I liked, I suddenly knew what to talk about. ＼(^o^)／
Japanese people will praise you on your knowledge and it’ll help them see you as a regular person rather than ‘the foreigner’. They’ll be able to take you seriously. Also if you aspire to make a breakthrough as an actor/singer/model/etc (since it’s unusual to be an idol when you hit a certain age range), it’d be helpful.

How come idols can't have boyfriends??
I’m so sorry for the long wait! I totally forgot about this blog. I think I will make it active again. Anyway, The main reason is because for idols, you’re in a relationship with your fans. Alot of idol fans are older males and they like the idea of “one day she can be my girlfriend!” even though it’s just a dream.

Well, show her videos of other girls who dance on youtube. Tell her it’s safe and mostly young girls like you are into it. Don’t bring up idoling or Japan now~ Wait until your mom gets used to youtube dance covers and see what she thinks of that.

The girl highlighted in red is the owner of the webshop Sassynpunkboutique. This is the facebook post where she’s shown her true colours and they’re pretty ugly. She started out ridiculing gyaru fashion, and she’s allowed to have an opinion but she started to say they look “handicapped” “low-class” like “hookers” etc. This type of offensive and out of line behaviour is absolutely unacceptable and a childish cry for attention. Please look at other sellers on etsy and storeenvy before making a purchase from this girl’s shop, as she says she doesn’t “need/want your money anyway.” The fact that she threatened and spoke like this to a potential customer is appalling and I am encouraging everyone to boycott her shop.
I actually didn’t know she was this bad, it’s a bit embarrassing especially since she’s being serious. This is just sad.
This is pretty pathetic to be fair. I mean, she was just pointing out how she is destroying her own business with the fact that she posted a lot of hate towards a very popular fashion. She made no threat towards her, just simply said that many people shall not be buying her items in the future after seeing her stupidity, immaturity and generally vile personality.

Don’t buy from sassnypunk! She’s a bad, racist, rude, and disgusting buisness owner. There are many other kind buisness owners who’d appreciate you so much more than this girl ever will.
